Geishas have both a private and a public face. They live in communities where they learn dancing, singing and arts. They believe their profession is more a vocation, than a simple job. Their main occupation is to entertain men.

Acting is their gold weapon: to perform their job, from the moment when they apply their make-up, geishas do not expect to improve their appearance, but instead cover it with a perfect and misterious make-up. For them, seduction means showing off their skills, not their skin; that is why they fully cover them with their kimonos, which are not designed to show or to favour, but they are a masterpiece which have to be shown as it is.

The ceremony of tea is a choreography with perfect movements, which brings the customer to an ideal world, by escaping the monotony of real life. Geishas take part in a conversation that will be always led by the customer, because there is belief that men relax and are happy with an enjoyable conversation led by them.

Time is measured solely with the help of incense sticks. At the end of evening, geishas bid farewell with a pure kiss on the cheek. Their inaccessibility make them even more special and desired.

The perfection of their make-up, their dresses and anything they do, is what create this mistery outside the world around them.
